M&E Maintenance Solutions Limited

About M&E Maintenance Solutions

M&E Maintenance Solutions is a UK-based commercial HVAC maintenance company founded in 2007 by Stuart Butcher and Fred Dixon. Headquartered in Birmingham, we provide planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and sustainable heating, ventilation and air conditioning installations for Facility Managers and Estate Managers across the United Kingdom. With over 20 engineers, a growing network of strategic partners, and certifications including SafeContractor, ISO 9001, Gas Safe, and REFCOM F-Gas, we deliver reliable building services that keep commercial properties compliant, comfortable, and cost-efficient.

Customer-First Commercial HVAC Maintenance

M&E was built on a simple observation: the maintenance of commercial buildings is best served by a company that puts the customer first. That principle has guided every decision we have made since 2007, and it is the reason the majority of our growth has come through client referrals rather than advertising.

Our mission is to grow a team of experts passionately dedicated to identifying our clients' needs and delivering the best sustainable solutions in commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. Our vision is to be the premier HVAC service provider that raises service standards above competitors in both quality and customer satisfaction across every market we serve.

18 Years of Commercial HVAC Excellence

M&E Maintenance Solutions was founded in 2007 by Stuart Butcher and Fred Dixon, combining decades of hands-on HVAC engineering experience with a shared commitment to client-first service.

Stuart brings over 25 years in the HVAC maintenance industry. Before co-founding M&E, he served as Operations Director at Carter Planned Maintenance Ltd, where he managed UK-wide contracts and a team of 110 engineers across three regional centres. Fred's complementary expertise in business development and client relations has been instrumental in building M&E's reputation for reliability and transparency. Accreditations & Compliance

Our accreditations are not just logos on a page. Each certification reflects a real commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance that directly protects our clients' operations:

  • SafeContractor Approved — Independent verification that M&E meets rigorous health, safety, and environmental standards. Required by many blue-chip clients before a contractor can access their sites.
  • ISO 9001:2015 (NQA) — Our quality management system is externally audited to ensure every maintenance visit follows a documented, repeatable process. Fewer errors, consistent results.
  • Gas Safe Registered — Legal requirement for any work on gas appliances in the UK. Every M&E gas engineer carries a valid Gas Safe ID card.
  • REFCOM F-Gas Certified — Certification under the F-Gas Regulation for handling refrigerants. Essential for any air conditioning or refrigeration maintenance work.
  • BES Accredited — Building Engineering Services accreditation demonstrating competence across mechanical and electrical building services disciplines.

Why Facility Managers Choose M&E

  • Referral-driven growth since 2007 — Our reputation is built on results, not marketing. Most clients come to us through direct referrals from other Facility Managers.
  • 24/7 emergency response — HVAC failures don't wait for business hours. Neither do we. Call 0121 380 5630 any time.
